SSG Paul Johnson is my baby brother.-
I guess my Uncle Dennis put you in contact with Paul and his story is the result. My uncle sent it out to the family and at first I couldn't believe it was "our" Paul even though so much of it I knew was the same.
Thank you for showing the world a different view than what we see on the nightly news.

I have been getting your mail for a long time-
Thank you for letting us read this letter from Paul. His war is different from the Vietnam war. But still all war is hell. Paul if you read this I am proud a heck for you and all the rest of the American soldiers over there.I know in my heart that each of you are doing the best job you can and it can not be a easy one to do.
I was in Nam from jan 69 to jan 70.I went there a e-2 and left a e-5 and was a SSg like yourself befor I got out of the Army so I know at least some of what life must be like for you over there.
You and all the other soldiers are and will always be in my prayers. God answers so of mine believe it or not.. 2and a half years ago they told me I had brain cancer and would be dead in 3 to 6 months.I am still alive and getting stonger every day. I work out at gym 3 day a week.Only 4% of people with this cancer live this long. And I plan on being around a whole lot longer. God is looking out for me. I am a fighter but I couldn't have fought my way out a wheel chair and lived this long all on my own without Gods help.The cancer grew in the motor skills part of my brain and made my left leg and arm into noodles. They told me I would never walk but with a lot of work and Gods help I do walk today. They wouldn't let me drive for 2 years but I am today. I am telling you these things so you will know that prayers do work.
Keep your back side down and your powder dry. Trust in God.
